Wing, centre, and FB and 5/8 cover. And no way he is a lock to start? He’s had a few good games, that’s it, he’s not demanding anything or toot-a-loo off to pommy land you go. Big Dell would want him in Oz I reckon.

If we re-sign Makasini, there is a good chance he’ll be fast tracked into NRL next year. Possibly outside Olam on the wing.

I don’t want to burst ur bubble but have u been watching the lower grade teams results they are very poor , now out of all these super juniors that every one thinks we have u might get 2-5 who make it , have a look at our great kids in the forwards they are not anywhere near 1st grade , when the panthers started there program they worked on 1 in a hundred would make 1st grade

They’re all 18 . Playing against 25-30 year olds , who are seasoned and getting desperate to make an impact in nrl , not his t because it means a contract here , but also a contract in SL as you have to have played a certain amount of games

Nah, the reports during the week were that we're trying to keep him but there's a bunch of other clubs + Union after him.

If Lee/Justin were still around we’d be in the news every day linked to Lomax .

, but Richo made it clear in a recent interview that no contract talk will be played out in the media & if it is then the deal is off the table .

Swap that around for me. Butcher is the one that's too small. If we had big backrowers then definitely yes, but a backrow of Paps, Bateman and Butcher would be the smallest in the comp.

I know Richo has said we are looking for a quality outside back but if AJ is next in line for 2nd row..We need more depth in the backrow now.

Agree which makes the thought of being able to lure him from the Broncos on the cheap near impossible. He will play 4 rounds with Walsh out + SOO at the very least for a team competing.

Over the next half a season he will probably get more gametime than he would get here with a team in the running for the comp - if Walsh gets injured later in the year he plays finals etc.

Some people say wing, center or 5/8th coverage as well. We don’t need halves coverage and he isn’t a center, as a winger he wouldn’t be more effective than what we have (especially defensively).

As a backup fullback maybe but we wouldn’t lure him away from the Broncos as a backup to Bula & unless Benji shifts Bula to centers.

I think he has talent but based on our current roster and real needs just don’t think he is the right player we should target.

Fataape at centre has been very solid for a 1st year starter. I see no reason to look at moving him on. In fact, I'd expect to see a year added to his contract at this rate.

Agree but suspect Staines will be around for a while. Hard to see where we get two wingers that are better than him by start of 2025. Maybe by 2026 we could upgrade?

Does anyone know what side Turuva is playing at the moment? Would be a great addition imo.

Staines at least has some speed, although we rarely see it and has struggled since his injury.

Toa on the other hand, unless he gets an attitude and desire transplant, will definitely not have a strong future. In fact, I'm struggling to find any positives for him.

Toa, 1x notable performance in his time here.

The point is he would not leave the Broncos unless he was given a strong indication he would be the starting fullback or 5/8 at the club he was moving to.
I’ve brought his name up a few times previously to be signed as our starting fullback, but I’ve been more than happy with what Bula has produced in his two games so far this season.

Isnt he 15 or 16?

The Harold Matts team is exciting, but man they are just kids and not even eligible till 2026 at the earliest. A lot of bridges to cross before that, like finishing school.

He’s in his second year of Harold Matthews which is U/17’s.
