Why would he deliberately miss training?
It’s simple, if someone plays reserve grade for 4 seasons their residual value is not good, where if they head to the UK now they could potentially be on a good contract for the next 7-8 years possibly longer.
Something has to give as Wests Tigers cannot afford to have the contract t money being paid for Sullivan wasting away in reserve grade.

Yeah, but how is that relevant to him deliberately missing training? Why is he going to do that?

Well if Wests Tigers put it to him this way.
Stay here and you will not play NRL for the next 4 seasons. As WT do not want to have 500k per season hanging over their Salary Cap the option is to give reason for WT to be able to remove the 500k per season from their Salary Cap and give JS a payout so he’s financially better off moving forward.
Missing training like Nofa did would be a solution as it has proven to be a good enough reason to terminate a contract.

If he wants to leave then leave … no need to put on a show missing training just because that’s how it played out with Nofo…

I dont see anything happening in that regard this season… so let’s see if he can develop something ..anything in NSW Cup in the meantime

Telling a player that would be complete bullshit and unprofessional. What are they going to say? “So mate, regardless how well you play in KOE, you’ll never see first grade again at our club”. As if.

I personally don't see Benji as the type of coach to give up on a player 3 months into a 4 year deal regardless of what we think of Bud as a player. Bud will probably spend the next month or so in cup & hopefully Benji is relaying to him the standards about being a first grade player. Galvin & Fainu are both super young & Sezer will be 33 by the end of the year so there probably will be another chance for Bud this season but will he take it is the question.

I agree with what you are saying, but we simply cannot retain our best players such as Stefano, upgrade others such as Galvin, have a red hot crack at signing a couple more quality players to strengthen up our team and still pay the rumoured 500-550k per season for a halve who is highly likely to okay NSW Cup for the remainder of his contract.
If he was on much less money it would be nice to keep him, but he’s not.

So you can see him playing regular NRL once Luai arrives ?
Benji clearly rates Galvin and Fainu ahead of him and it’s very hard to argue with that with what Sullivan has shown so far.

Wests Tigers prop Stefano Utoikamanu sits atop a Penrith Panthers hit list as they ponder their next move following the decision to release enforcer James Fisher-Harris to the Warriors at the end of this season.

Here we go again....

They have, he will be and he may not want to go to England. Contracts are like that.

FFS. Imo our most consistent player across all our games. Hasn't had a bad game or even average game yet this year. It would be a great buy for them
