Sorry but I haven't read all the previous comments on this thread.......Personally, I don't really care where the news about good old Lidcombe was posted. I tend to be a bit nostalgic and think it's a lovely idea to make this venue available again. Even though I was a staunch Balmain Tigers fan I always wondered what this renowned, inner west field was like. The Balmain fans have been fortunate to still see first grade games at Leichhardt. It's great for the Western Suburbs supporters or any long term Rugby League fans to see footy again at this arena. Finally, it has nothing to do with the Wests Tigers brand and should be viewed as an initiative to promote traditional, metropolitan footy!

A few interesting names there who went on to bigger and better things. Reserve grade was a tough school in those days.
