...ahead of you....
Former NSW Blues coach Laurie Daley hasn't ruled out returning to the role after Brad Fittler's resignation last week.

Fittler took over from Daley after the 2017 series, with the latter ending the Maroons' dynasty in 2014.

Now with the job vacant, Daley confirmed he's interested in helping the Blues out in an way he can.......................more

Hopefully they can come up with a bit more than Daley

I’ve got a feeling they are going to go the club coach route.
That would be a mistake.
Yes I’d have Matty Johns attached to help, and Gallen.

Geoff Toovey for mine. Proven coach, isn't a hippie dippie moron like Fittler, not part of the Channel 9 mafia. And he's a passionate guy who gets origin
Is he a member of the boys club?....don't think so....great candidate though

Joey Johns. Could be the Meninga type figurehead, with a technical/tactics coach as his assistant (Hagan comparison). Maybe get a specialist in for the boxing training though :)

Joey is involved already and he isn't up to it.

Matty > Joey

True, but he'd be funny to watch as he blows a fufu valve in the coaches box.

I think Freddy did much better job earlier on because he seemed to ignore the outside noise. The last couple of series he seem to respond to the media interference, including Gus getting in his ear. I think they should have retained him. He did a great job of the other parts: promotion and regional visits etc.

Honestly feel guys like Toovs and Madge have lost touch with the elite athlete of today.

Jason Ryles could be a good candidate.

The Bellamy/Stuart coaching duo actually doesn't sound too bad..

Matty, Joey, Daley etc with their media commitments probably won't be able to do the role the justice it deserves. Slater has a lot going on but he puts an insane amount of effort into watching each and every player.

The Cleary duo might potentially take up the challenge though. If they are to beat Slater and co a few times, I think they'd have achieved everything they can in the game.

If you can get him sober might help. Def on the turps when commentating the GF the other night. Great halfback on the field, absolute peanut any and everywhere else.
