I wanted to have a look at how the draw has affected us and has affected other teams.
What was really interesting to me was how much the draw has hurt us this year.
Games vs top 6
Broncos - 9
Tigers - 8
Dogs - 7
Warriors, Sharks, Titans, Roosters,Souths,Panthers, Storm - 6
Raiders, Knights, Manly, Eels - 5
Dragons (Inc getting Manly early season when they were poor) - 4
Cowboys - 3
So while we are doing badly we have also had the 2nd hardest draw of the year given the disparity vs the top 6 teams this year.
We have won 1 of those 8 while 5 teams havent won a game against the top 6 - Dogs, Raiders, Warriors, Cowboys, Titans
A number of other teams have won just 1 game against the top 6 as well - Broncos, Sharks, Knights, Manly and Roosters
Against the bottom 12 teams we actually have a comparable record and better then a few teams - Dogs, Broncos, Raiders, Knights, Dragons. Cowboys all have a worse F/A against the bottom 12 teams then we do. We have won 4 games out of our 8 against the bottom 12 teams with a positive F/A of +12 against these teams.
That is 6 teams that have a worse record then us against the bottom 12 and really it is our draw and who we have played that see's us in the bottom 3.
The positive I take out of this is that we have only 2 games out of our last games against the top 6 out of 8 plus a bye for a total of 10 agains the top 6
Cowboys on the other hand have 5 games (still meaning they play only 8 vs our 10)
Dragons also have 5 (total 10 inc a soft Manly win in wk 3), Sharks have 2 (for a total of 8) , Knights 2 (total of only 7), Raiders 5( total 10)
So while we have possibly the hardest draw outside the Broncos (11 v top 6) we do have a real opportunity to improve our position and it is likely our results improve just because we have been through our hardest part of our draw already while Dragons, Cowboys, Raiders have thier hard period coming up while Knights and Sharks just have a softer draw then we do (a 2-4 point better draw).
Anyway just wanted to share what I found and be interested in your thoughts if we had a soft draw like the Cowboys for example and had 14 points and coming out of the bye on 16 points would you be happier with our form when in reality it wasnt any different just against different teams
