The rugby league world is in shock after a young player died suddenly following Manly training on Monday.
The Sea Eagles said 20-year-old Keith Titmuss passed away at Royal North Shore hospital after becoming ill while training at Narrabeen.
He was taken by ambulance from the training centre to nearby Northern Beaches Hospital and then transferred to Royal North Shore where he died.
He was a member of the club’s full-time NRL squad but had not yet made his NRL debut.
Grand Final
He was a junior star and scored the winning try for Manly in the 2017 NYC grand final, and he was named the club’s Jersey Flegg Cup players’ player in 2019.
“We are all devastated by this news,’’ first grade coach Des Hasler said.
“Keith was a very popular character amongst the playing group. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten by the Sea Eagles.”
