Sashimi-basically any saltwater fish. Sea urchin roe good. Yellowtail really good if prepared properly better than a lot of fish you catch when used only for bait.

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio With prawns is a great dish …. Easy to put together ….. try it

Kebab shop pizza Demps?

Yeah, this one is from @westTAHger old ends.

Think it's called Tasteful Creations @ Waratah.

Does kebabs, pizza and Indian food.
Some of the staff look Indian and some of the staff look Turkish.

The kebabs are OK, I don't eat Indian food... but the pizzas are really good.

Mate Indian food is the bomb. We had Indian on my birthday.

Disagree.

I had Food in India and it's nothing like the stuff they dish up at these Indian take aways.

Yet to find a decent place around.

Malaysian food is good though.
It's kinda like mix between Indian and Chinese.
?

You should try indian style chinese. It's fantastic.

Is that like Bhutanese & Tibetan?

No it's Chinese food cooked to Indian taste. It's essentially the Chinese food they serve in India. I'd never heard of it but my wife is Indian.

Best restaurant i've found in Sydney that serves it is Bombay Talkies in Harris Park. Probably the best regular indian food too.

https://www.facebook.com/bombaytalkiesrestaurant/

Ah OK sweet, no worries.

Interesting.

Have you tried Malaysian?

Kari Ayam, Beef Rendang, etc

Sure have, love Malaysian food. I like most cuisines.

After lockdown if you're ever in or around Sydney city there's a small place in Darlinghurst called Dumplings and Beer. They serve Beef Rendangs sliders that are unreal.

If anyone likes dumplings, the Mountain Ama cafe in Katoomba does the best pelmeni/momo with sour cream garlic sauce.

Wife does Pastitsio ..it is a Greek dish ...just amazing

Best description ...bit like the Greeks version of Shephards Pie ......

Favourite Greek dish. I think of it more like a Greek lasagne. So good

Yeah probably better description Avo ......what filling does your maker use .......

I haven’t attempted to make it myself but I’ve had it a lot at Greek friends places and it’s the first thing I’d order in a Greek restaurant if they have it on the menu. Was told my one of the mothers that it’s the cinnamon in the mince that makes the difference.

I could really do with one now. Might try and make one for dinner tonight lol

Supposedly the Lamb version is amazing ...have you tried it yet ......????

Miss my Nan's cooking .....she was English and Sunday Night Roasts were amazing ....best Yorkshire Pud ever .....

She always said she thought I would become a chef ......yeah ...nah

Does anyone know where you can get good Leb food on the Central Coast? I'm not a Leb but my daughter-in-law is and she introduced me to the delights of the food.

Byblos , I think that’s how you spell it in Gosford goes good mate. It’s in kibble park across from the courthouse if you know Gosford.

I was only thinking about this sort of thread the other day.

Sadly I struggle to make nice crispy baked potatoes can anyone help with this.

And can anyone suggest a nice and easy steak rub to add a but of flavor.

Very lightly glaze your potatoes ...add a bit of salt ...turn them regularly

And your roast porks crackle .......light glaze of lemon and salt ......

It's good but you know what's even better... spaghetti vongole :) When I was a youngin I used to go down to the South Coast and get fresh vongole from the beach... that was until every man and their dog was doing the same thing.

potatoes
cut, boil part way there, fork and rub them all over to fluff them up, bake in the oven with duck fat and salt (or oil and salt but the fat is better)

Mrs does the baked potatoes this way

Have you tried Motel Mezza? It's a restaurant in Wyong that does Leb food. Mrs and I have dined in many times and ordered their take away even more when we've been in lockdowns.

Better way to describe it
My yia yia used to cook it all the time.
My wife however ?

I'm 38 and have only ever dated 1 woman in my life that can cook. Seems pretty common these days.

Also 38 and married to a Russian who's mother was a chef and is an amazing cook and would you believe it, the Mrs doesn't cook. It's not that she can't just isn't into it at all. Lucky I love cooking I guess.

That is sad, but i also have to be careful these days with many foods as i do have issues eating onion so i have to avoid it despite the fact i love it.Fortunately i can still have as much chilli as i like, if i ever have a problem eating that you can dig a hole and bury me

Vongole and Pipis are both members of the Clam family. Vongole is basically Italian for Clam.
