Wests Tigers Board & Ceo Discussion

I love the fact they didn't release any info about tactics and strategy on the show. Yeah other teams would of been interested in copying the wooden spooners tactics šŸ™„ šŸ˜„ šŸ¤£
Yes, but other teams were also put on notice that Wests Tigers are always in the F@#*ing game.

Not a member but you can view the Balmain financials online. For the last handful of years all signed and dated in 2023. Seems to corroborate what is being claimed.
Yep - interesting that Cavanagh called out WT for poor governance in Feb and gets punted in March for doing so. At the time he claimed Balmain had not held any elections for their board for 4 years. Lo and behold in April, Balmain has a new board that was unopposed and presumably unelected and all their financials for they years 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 are suddenly up to date and all signed off and audited between Feb and April. Unbelievable - and yet Hagipantellis has the hide to call Cavanagh demented.

Balmain financials? Weren't the records burnt when the club went up into flames?

The question comes down to 'Does the coaching/playing staff have everything they need to succeed'.

If not, then that's on the board/ceo and the business side of the venture to provide them with the tools/equipment/staffing to succeed.

If they have the tools/equipment/staffing but aren't capable of turning that into on field success, then that's on the football department.

This is a gross oversimplification but Pascoe's role is to provide Sheens/Benji (or whoever the hell is the coach) with what they need.

That includes bringing in a Recruitment manager.

Losing by 70 is entirely on the coaching staff and the players though.

I'm not a fan of either the board or the coaches, but the board did build the CoE, and improve the financials.

Football side needs to pull their finger out.

Maybe the first question should be does the coaching staff know how to win? What did Benji forget?

Couldnā€™t agree more wholeheartedly!

From James Hooper today:

Guess who was the only NRL club chief executive to be a no show at the NSW Rugby League and Queensland Rugby League powwow at the Blues Centre of Excellence at Sydney Olympic Park on Monday?

Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy made the 2000km round trip from Brisbane, QRL CEO Ben Ikin was the same, Warriors CEO Cameron George was on a Zoom link from Auckland, the same for North Queensland CEO Jeff Reibel from Townsville, Canberra CEO Don Furner drove the six-hour round trip from the national capital, the Melbourne CEO made the trip, you get the general idea.

Panthers boss Brian Fletcher, South Sydney CEO Blake Solly, 16 of the 17 NRL club CEOā€™s all made the effort to listen to Ikin and NSW Blues CEO Dave Trodden outline their pitch for why the state leagues need millions more in funding from the NRL to propagate the grassroots level of the game.

The only CEO who failed to attend was Tales from Tiger Town star Justin Pascoe. Yep, the Wests Tigers CEO sent his apologies due to a prior commitment.

Instead it was left to the Wests Tigers chief financial officer to Zoom into the meeting.

For the record itā€™s 8.2km from the Wests Tigers Centre of Excellence in Concord to the NSW Centre of Excellence at Sydney Olympic Park.

Is it any wonder the Wests Tigers are in the queue to collect back-to-back wooden spoons?

Iā€™m no fan of Pascoe ā€¦but would be interesting if the ā€œprior commitment ā€ was a funeral or medical procedure or something like thatā€¦

Iā€™m sure Hoops would apologise right?

Iā€™m no fan of Pascoe, but this guy is obsessed with him.

Donā€™t matter. Pascoe has created this mess and people wonā€™t take the foot off until heā€™s gone. He could be having a double toupee bypass and Hoops would still be gunning for him.

I would have thought that a professional journalist would at least attempt to find out the actual reason for Pascoe's non attendance ie. Likewise Pascoe should provide more detail. Simply saying "a prior engagement" isn't enough.
