In this video, Nikorima says he gets cash on the side from Tony Iro if he gets a certain number of runs in a game? If it is disclosed in the cap, I suppose it's a non issue. Players have ratchet clauses for making representative sides etc. so I am not sure why stat based KPI's could not be linked to a contract.
