Very sad news, first saw him play for country vs city at the sports ground . He was overshadowed by Tony Branson on that day. A great friend of Tigers half Keith Outen (in the army together) Without doubt the greatest footballer iv'e ever seen.
Still think even the Pommies rate him as the greatest. Great coach and a great man.

A manly legend who spent his last couple of years at easts.
He coined the cement truck phrase when coaching at manly with reference to a referees performance.
At the 1965 grand final he was one of the young fellows who climbed and sat on the sheridan stand roof to watch the game between saints and souths.
no ohs issues in those days.

Mate i wish you young guys could look at the old tests between England and Australia. England were a powerhouse.
The game was brutal, and you had to be a 10 point better side with the refereeing over there. (think of Gommersial the grasshoper for qld) Bozo won those games. He was a freak. Eveyone hated Manly and Bozo, but when he put on the green and gold we loved him. Speed,tackling, kick and chase, passing, he was the ultimate athlete.

One of the absolute greats.
One of those players that looked like he was doing everything is slow motion but absolutely carved teams to pieces. Also an incredibly tough defensive centre who smashed in defence

Can't see his brother Ron in the pics ...hope he hasn't passed as well ...he was the Wests Panthers captain coach in the late 70's
