I recall him towards the end of his footy career seeing him play. Still a powerful runner and with his size I'd have hated to try to tackle him.

Very sad news. Along with Ned, Peter was one of my childhood idols. Later it was Tommy. All gone now. Feeling a bit vulnerable today.

Peter Diamond was a legend in the Newcastle Comp when he played with the Maitland Pumpkin Pickers, I was very young when he played but was talked about for many years in this area.
