A third of NRL games over the last 10 years won by 6 or less - can't win a premiership without a decent goalkicker - we need to concentrate on this before anything else!

A goal kicker is an essential at every level of rugby league yet Wests Tigers have given it no consideration for years. I'm sure other clubs laugh at the club because of this issue..

If we are not looking for a quality goal kicker for next season with our Roster will have to start asking questions. One above 75% would at least keep us competitive with the other sides.

Think the team in general when we score a try then can't convert from close in front must be very dispiriting to the players.

Amazing that in the last 3 years both Cleary and Maguire have ignored how important goal kickers are.

Cleary probably signed Moses for that reason

i do think Madge is working on it, atm he has- Moses- Who just sucks, Douehi- Who is not striking them as nice due to his leg injury, and Benji- who is old lol

We need 2, and both need to be good enough to be selected in the 17.
No point going all in on one if they get injured.

Moses was never really a goal kicker, and even after he joined in 18 we persisted with Marsters from memory? It should be our main priority.

Have been asking the same questions for years. We refuse to address the kicking issue is mind blowing

Beyond a joke that we can't find a reliable goal kicker from somewhere, maybe ESL. Just rIdiculous. We must be able to count on banking 6 rather than 4 points whenever we score a try.

Cleary ignored it because it wasn't going to be a problem for him when he went back to Penrith.

WT would regard this analysis as akin to wikipaedia cited on a reference list at university.

Thanks Scoop

I hope we’re not of the mindset that if we play well enough we shouldn’t need an extra 2 points. Firstly that’s not true, you’re just shooting yourself in the foot, and secondly no, we’re not that good.

Sign the goal kicker from St Gregs:

No matter how many good players Madge may sign for 2021; if a goal-kicker isn't amongst them then it will be a big fat fail.

How many games have we lost based on goal kicking ? Genuine question because for all tje importance of points it usually mayby costs you 1 game per season between 65% and 80%. The sharks last year being the exception when they lost 4 or 5 based on goal kicking alone but cant remember any this year we have lost based on goal kicking

Good point. I was thinking that when we lined up against the Knights, who have the same problem. If we had a 85% kicker that gives us around 8 more goals.
The real value in having a good kicker is imo almost equal to having a captain who can hold onto the bloody ball. After doing all the hard work to get across the stripe close to the posts you run back counting the 6 points. Subtracting 2 points from your tally is a negative process which can have a snowballing effect. An 85% kicker can keep the momentum going your way.
