David Klemmer #264

No trolling but Brooksy created a lot for us last week. There was no issue on the weekend with us scoring points. The problem was defending and it was mostly from kicks.
Him and Doueihi still couldn’t capitalise on our attacking pressure to start the game (which has happened in pretty much every single game so far this year).

Was probably his best game of the year due to the chances he created in our attempted comeback but he still got completely played off the park by Moses.

And we still lost despite having 57% of possession.

Our playmaking (apart from when Brooks isn’t overthinking everything he does because we’re having to attempt an impossible comeback AGAIN) is inexcusable.

Would would any half want to come to WT.

Looks like Luke keppie is our only hope.

I don't buy this or better put I don't buy in the context of Brooks performances. I think Brooks has been pretty good but last week he was outstanding. Moses was better but to me that is a stupid argument. Brooks completely outplayed Dylan Brown who would be on more dollars than Brooks.

There have also been other issues.

Doueihi has been terrible until last week and then he did his ACL.

The coaching staff stuffed up by not giving Staines the opportunity at fullback earlier.

Api has a massive role to play. He has been good but you can't excuse him and not excuse Brooks because they were both good.

I also think our middle forwards are not denting the line enough. Sure we are rolling down the field but we aren't getting quick play the balls, offloads and busts from them. Our outside backs also haven't been great excluding Tupou and he made a critical mistake on the weekend that they scored off.

Highly doubt Keppie will ever play NRL.

Conti is younger but more likely.

Neither look like absolute superstars to me but are both young, so who knows.

Can debate this until the end of time but it’s the wrong thread anyway so will leave it lol.

see how keppie goes this finals run. If can do something two consecutive years is a decent statement.

in what world is dylan brown on more money than brooks, theres maybe 3-5 guys in the entire comp thats on more money than brooks and that's the problem

Klemmer through 10 games

161.5 metres per game
60 PCM per game
26 tackles per game (99.6% tackle efficiency)
12 offloads
Some people on here think that he is playing poorly.

I know that stats don't always tell the whole story, but if these stats are correct they are not indicative of someone playing poorly.

I think that possibly some have seen a change in his running style and aggression and equate this to playing poorly.

I know that stats can vary between different sources, but the stats that I looked at show he has missed 1 tackle and conceded 2 penalties with no sin bins or send offs, which seems very reasonable to me for his output in other areas of the game.

If he was strictly playing the role of a JWH or Victor the Inflictor type enforcer, which is the style I believe some on here were wanting him be playing, then the penalty, sin bin and send off stats would go through the roof simply because he is playing for us and on any perceived reputation that may have carried over from the past.

Just for the record I am not saying that there is cheating or bias against certain teams and players by officials even though some of them have their eyes painted on and have a very poor interpretation of the rules and events that have occurred on the field.

excluding Api, this man is the best signing we have made in a decade. plays long minutes, averages approx 10 metres a hitup, makes his tackles, can find an offload and is a great mentor for the likes of Utoikamanu, Pole, Miller, Laulili'i and Fa'agutu. also an absolutely A1 human being. I hope we keep him around at the club well after he retires.

What price do you know what brooks is being paid? Is it 800, 900 or 1.2 or 1.3?

I wanted him when he went to the knights. He is a consistent aggressive gun of a prop and if Freddy wasn’t such a knob he’d be playing origin and should be this year.

He has been nothing short of elite.

I would argue those numbers are better than any prop in the club's history, albeit a small sample size.

A pack leader in every sense of the word.
perhaps Woods numbers were similar when he was with us?

Possibly, though the tackle efficiency and minutes per game wouldn't match I wouldn't think. It's interesting to note though, when Woods was putting up comparable numbers, he was playing for NSW and Australia...

Klem has been fantastic both on and off the field.

Remember he replaced James Tamou who may have been good off the field, yet left a lot to be desired on it

Leads by example and will show the young forwards how to prepare and last in the Front Row for many years

Tbh while he's been great with us I don't think he should play for nsw there are props that give just as much but have a faster play the ball which wasn't prioritised as much during the period woods played in rep teams
