Curtis Manager, Steve Gillis denies that his client "is on the bus"!! Curtis supposedly to stay in Union and play for the Wallabies (must be looking at another franchise if Force fold)??

Surveying the options or priming the price pump?

According to Channel 7 reporter Josh Massoud, he's a done deal. But I'm not so sure about this.

That ^ may be precisely the reason Rona's manager has gone into damage control.

Probably going to announce it after the Force fold.

Western Force outside back Curtis Rona is keeping his sights on a Wallabies berth and has no plans to leave the vulnerable Super Rugby franchise for the NRL's Wests Tigers, his manager says.

Rumours Rona was set to join the Tigers were sparked when an apparent social media post by the speedster with the words "on the bus" were circulated.

The bus reference could be interpreted as alluding to comments by the NRL club's coach Ivan Cleary, who used it as a metaphor when discussing players' commitment earlier this year.

But manager Steve Gillis denied Rona was looking to leave the Force as they await an Australian Rugby Union decision that could axe them from Super Rugby.

"There's been absolutely no discussion whatsoever (about joining the Tigers)," Gillis told AAP.

"He's under contract. So until we know anything different, nothing changes. He's very happy in rugby and doing well.

"We anticipate he'll play for the Wallabies this year. So there's plenty of positives.

"We were hoping he'd get there (in the current Wallabies squad) but I think he accepts that well and is pushing forward and hopefully makes the next one."

Rona, who has played some wing this season but spent most of his time at outside centre, has been one of the Force's best players.

The 25-year-old joined the Perth-based side on a two-year deal after switching from NRL team Canterbury at the end of last year.

He has previously said he would be open to a rugby league return if his Super Rugby career failed, but hoped he could stay with the Force in his hometown.

I would imagine that Roma's management would definitely not want any move to NRL advertised until the Force RU contract pay out is negotiated and finalised.
So not surprised with this article.

X2

Imagine if Massoud indeed has the balls to write up a player movement as done, based only on some cryptic social media.

He got the bus to the airport since he's in Dubai atm 😂

There's not exactly any recourse for the rubbish journalists trot out nowadays, which is sad. Putting a spotlight on blokes like Hooper and Massoud whether right or wrong is embarrassing, and I wouldn't be surprised if it contributed to the cliche-ridden, pre-rehearsed snooze-fests players roll out at any opportunity. Oh well, it is what it is…

Remember when mataulino hadn't had any talks with tigers and his manager said it was media talk then 5 days later he was signed?

And to be fair to massoud this has been a quiet rumour that had some legs about 4/5 weeks ago. Too much smoke for there to be no fire. But no word from the within the club. If it's legit it's been kept real hush hush internally

Then I hope it is true on 2 fronts then, 1 the club kept it quiet and out of the media, and 2 he is a good player, that would really be win win.

Rona 'liked' the tigers lineup announcement on Facebook. Therefore he has signed with Sharks. There you go Massoud, new scoop!
