Probably is just some made up character like all the others Chopper claimed he knocked.

Guy was very weird.

Neville Bartos had a different name in the books.
My best guess would be he took 5% of truth and added 95% embellishment much like a reality T.V. show.
 
For the Fantasy nerds, give The King Killer Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss a go. The 1st book is called "The Name of the Wind." He has written 2 out of 3 in the trilogy and they are brilliant so far.
I'm currently re reading Feists Rift war and looking at "The Black Company" next. Has anyone read it?
