Im only catching bits of the game but have to say that the impression of our attacking ability being very, very limited is being reinforced each minute of this game. We just dont have enough / any game breakers in the squad. Toilers but no-one able to break a game open and keep the other team...
It does depend on whether he wants to stay or not. If he triggers the escape clause, then he can go the moment that happens as far as I care, but if he wants to stay and work for it, he is welcome and very much appreciated by me. FWIW I reckon he will stay.
I think though that some of the non performers in the top 30 ranks do have to be culled by end of this season. It is not only affecting the NRL team but the State Cup Magpies team are badly affected by carrying them too. Positions 20 to 30 in the squad will obviously spending most of their time...
Think Tumuth would be a good case to release as not set the world on fire, the issue of Sullivan / Sezer for next year will have to be resolved with one of them gone, as well as the issue of Twal / Seyfarth somewhat competing against each other for same similar role, Matamua, Klemmer and Toa...
I have to say, my general impression of our squads throughout the various comps is a lack of size / power / strength compared to so many others. Do we deliberately go out of our way to select the smaller, less powerful players in a time where the big, good players simply run over / through good...
There are 4 of those we can win plus a bye. Reckon Saints just will powerhouse us again. Certainly any home ground does not give us any advantage these days.
I wanted to save comment until the game was out of the way. The signing of Richardson long term is an amazing fillip for the Wests Tigers club. His professionalism, acumen and knowledge / contacts have been of great assist in the last few months and we/I can only expect more ot come over the...
Well, I think we have amplely demonstrated that WT really lack a game breaker in the current squad. The big teams have atleast 2 or 3, we have none. Hopefully next year the signings of Luai and Turuva can bring the ability to score points on top of positive progress with Galvin, the Fainu's, Ute...
Suspect we can figure probably a bit of both. I'd like to think it's not self interest but...... no doubt Roosters have already had their recruiters in the family ear. Remember a few years ago Roosters openly said their tactics were to buy the best Juniors and the develop locally, hence getting...
Don't disagree with those thoughts. Definitely need to get Fainu more time, and maybe try to squeeze in an early release for Matamua and replace with a solid enough back rower from somewhere. I'm assuming current work to fill the remaining vacant squad position is for a speedy, tall backline...
He is also nephew of Wests Magpies Russell Mullins, our winger in the 70's. Family connections could work just as well for us, Roosters (other uncle Bill Mullins) or Canberra. Who knows, but at least worth asking the question to him if he's interested.
Future ground? Seems like 2 x options in the horizon for choice - neither totally great.
1/ Homebush- there has to be someone making use of the good facilities there, WT are a pretty logical choice. Could do it as a standalone.
2/ Build something new in conjunction with Bulldogs and share at...
