Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Definitely not Sivo, people saying we should take on and extend his contract have completely lost the plot.
Sivo is a specialist left wing and would be a worthwhile get if we felt we could get him back to at least his fitness of last year. Next to Olam would be a lethal combo. Would expand the Fiji connection at the club making us even more desirable for future Fijians. Bring experience & elite finishing and for 2 years (with Olam) would not block the pathway of whoever we have earmarked as a future left centre/winger (i.e Willett, Saukuru, Makasini, Feledy).

The likes of Staines, T'oa, Naden, Lobb and externally Cotric & Valemei are preferred right wingers. Think this is often forgotten when we are speculating centre & wing recruits.

Perhaps it could have been much worse for the Sharks because Trindall was coming from an after match party at a team mate's house. I won't name the team mate but how deep do you think Cronulla will dig?
So Trindall is a scapegoat? Bet he’s rapt.

Sivo turns 31 at the end of the year and has major defensive issue. We aren't the team to coach that out of him at this point in his career.

It's perfect that Cotric is a right winger because I think we should be playing Staines on the left anyway. The way he plays doesn't lend himself to being better on either side of the field as he gets away with pure speed, not a palm or a step. Staines is way better suited to receiving offloads from a wrecking ball like Olam.

No, I think he would be the first to admit he was at fault.
Its one thing to take responsibility for you own actions. But if you’re the only one who has to while everyone else gets off scot free, it would be hard not to feel like you have been thrown under the bus.

A scapegoat? are you high? He was driving under the influence of both alcohol and cocaine WHILE on a suspended license. He isn't a scapegoat, he got caught by NSW police breaking the law.
Again…..No. He ownes that. But if he’s coming from a party, where a bunch of his teammates are doing the same shit, scapegoat might be a strong word, but they seem happy to let him take the heat for that part of it.

It won't be Staines, he is the only legit winger out of the 3. Safe under the high ball unlike Starford and doesn't have the same brain explosions as Naden. His biggest issue atm is finding a way to effectively inject himself into the game. I agree that it will be one of Naden / Toa (I am leading towards Toa being easier to move on).

As I said in my post before that there will be some changes (Would definitely be in the 21 - 30), just don't expect to be linked to anyone until we can actually make some room because we can only sign 1 more until we do.
I remember Staines dropping a sitter that cost us a game. I think it was from a drop out and wait straight through the hole in his bread basket. Last season I think?
We need better than him too.

Mate id guess that there is more than a few in each team doing it, let alone the Sharks. Wasn't SKD caught with it at Ivy years ago and nothing came of it?

He, unlike the rest of his team put himself in a position to get caught. If I was Trindall and the other boys were doing it I'd be glad that my dumb mistake didn't bring the heat to the whole club.
