Not a bad way to start the year for us.

Is this confirmed?

Was reported by Fox Sports, and the draw is coming out this week, so I would say yes.

TRADITIONAL rivals South Sydney and the Sydney Roosters are set to do battle in the opening round of the 2019 NRL season, according to reports.
The Daily Telegraph has revealed the Round 1 fixtures, with Melbourne and Brisbane to play in the season opener at AAMI Park on Thursday, March 14.

On the Friday night, Newcastle and Cronulla clash in the Hunter before Rabbitohs and Roosters add another chapter to their long-running rivalry when they do battle at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Super Saturday will feature the Warriors hosting Canterbury in Auckland, the Wests Tigers taking on Manly, and North Queensland beginning their post-Johnathan Thurston era against St George Illawarra.

On Sunday afternoon, Panthers Stadium is set to be packed when Penrith take on Parramatta at 4pm, who will be desperate to forget their 2018 season, before Gold Coast host Canberra in the later game.

Good to start off with a home game. Can't complain about that.

That’s a pretty good way to open the season. I’m betting we play panthers in round 2 lol.

Glad to see round 1 won’t clash with the Download festival the weekend before.

Agree. Hoping the opening month isn't as brutal for us as it was this season.

Round one at Cambo v the silver tails is a good way to start the season. No easy games in the NRL and first 6 rounds anything can happen. I think Manly with all the drama of this year and a new coach in Des could be the big improvers in 2019 so it will be a test for our mob

Same old , same old , all about the TV NOT the fans. I will be lucky to see 2 games at the ground next year coming from the country. Amazing to see the Tonga experience and what effect it has on the players. To bad we see empty stadiums where all the players hear are echo's.

Couldn't of picked a better team to go against. They will be all over the shop for the first few weeks. Especially if barrett is still their with the new coach.

The actual release had us playing at either Campbelltown or Leichhardt. Not sure it has been determined yet but happy to be told I’m wrong if I misread it.
“Peanuts! Get ya peanuts - in the shell or sugar coated!” Leichhardt memories.

I'm just surprised that they didn't put us up against the Panthers
