The proof of your (well thought) argument will be how the Dogs perform this year and the next. To my mind, their rebuilt is similar to where we are heading. To the extent that model is successful will tell us how well it works. What I fear the most though, is that we are not chasing a target...
I'd rather be a fan of a team that's in contention for the top 4/8 every year but never wins rather than being a fan of a team that is perennially mediocre but goes all in for a year, wins a premiership, and then goes back to being mediocre for a long time to follow.
For me, it has become more of a case of "Let's not get beaten by a cricket score" and the curioisty to see how the younger players perform, knowing also it is no guarantee that they will stay.
The issue is that the stronger clubs are ony going to gt stronger, in every sense, and I can't see how...

Remind me again, what are contracts in RL??
To be bringing in "experienced" players in this team? Api leads me to believe that it could be however, out of all the seasoned players that have come to the club, and I am happy tp stand corrected, he is the only one that has been consistently good, heads and shoulders above everyone else, for...
Regardless of who he played for, it is another example of a life that needs to be turned around for the young man and many like him, sadly.
Easier said than done, though.
The lack of an authoritarian figure within the team - and needn't be the captain but it would help - may explain it insaneink. Or even action beyond what happens on the field - such as the club fining players. On top of all of this, there is the lack of ready made replacements.
Come to think...
Well...much as people may enjoy the dressing room face slapping exercise from the "good old days"...the reality is that you can't be asking for more than a tough, physical encounter. We can't afford some washed up reserve grader come in and put a cheap shot on a rising star, and I am sure the...
Well, since this thread is about Psychology...And to quote from many online resources. "There are many examples, and loads of movies, where the work of a sports psychologist has been hailed as being instrumental in both individual and team success. Thus, many, and I guess the OP, are convinced...
I can understand having patience, but also I am symphatetic to the failing a team that hasn't had any success since 2005. I think a lot of the frustration is coming from not seeing some sort of consistent performance, and errors that are not in keeping with first grade level. As for age, I am in...
I used to think that it was a mental problem. After today, apart from this, I suspect a tackling 101 clinic wouldn't go astray.
Hard to see us beating too many (if any) teams on current form. And top of that, there are players who are also going backward, in performance.
Benji has a mountain to...
