Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Yes it surprised me we have been told richo is a top shelf administrator, he should have told papali, your free to go but not till 26 when your contact expires here, real pascoe stuff actually
On the surface it seems to continue the old pattern of signing a good player on slight overs (because we suck), player under performs compared to their salary, player is released with us tipping in, we promote over-rated juniors, wash, rinse, repeat.

I'm prepared to see how it plays out though. Maybe it's just the Wests Tigers PTSD kicking in.

His tackle busting ability and involvement was elite from the get go. Obviously did the ACL on debut so may have come back a little down on confidence but within 20 career games he was an obvious star.
Meh, I saw a clear injury prone ball hog with zero ball playing ability.
He grew on me but has never been comparable to greats like Slater.

I honestly don’t remember Teddy having a poor start to his career, I recall saying he’s a future Kangaroo from almost day dot.

How people's memories of the past are shaped by the present.

Tedesco played 30 mins in 2012 and showed promise before he did his ACL.

In 2013, he came back on the wing against Manly. He looked like he was running in quicksand and was timid in defence. He played the first 3-4 games on the wing before moving to fullback. Towards the end of the season he started looking good, albeit in losing causes, and he carried that form into 2014. The opener against St George was his first blinder.

Because regardless any player movements are finalised by the preceding club paying out the remainder of the contract. You can’t tell me; Ice and his manager would ‘walk away from a year on $750 and sign for much less. Panthers have probably signed him for a decent amount probably $550 -$600.
We would be making up the rest for 25.
He asked to leave the tigers won’t be paying anything

I’ve obviously wiped 2013 from my memory when we won 3 of the 19 games he played in. Must of been the following year he hit his straps.
Yes there’s been far too many of those years.
How many more wins do you see us getting this year?
May snag one during origin, we have Souths twice, maybe one of those? Not looking real good.

It’s more me wanting to back Galvin to be our future. If we have a bet each way and lose Gal I’ll be disappointed.

Im not sure that keeping Latu around another few years needs to have any impact on Galvin being the longer term 6… just get Galvin extended another couple of years between now and round 1 next year …

I give us a bit of hope against the Dragons at Win. Hopefully a bit of rain to make it a defensive slog. Off the bye you’d hope the energy levels are up.

Not many more as the depth in our squad is just abysmal.

How are numerous people here already writing off Latu and even advocating for getting rid of him? He literally hasn’t played one game in the halves.

It’s so dumb it actually beggars belief.
Would you trade him for a Josh Addo-Carr or another elite try scorer?

I always feel we should beat Dragons but then on game day they lift and smash us up the guts. Only Hunt backing up from Origin so we’ll do it the hard way.

I think Galvins manager was requesting a release after we signed Bud, they've since seen him play all is well :ROFLMAO:
But in all seriousness if he has still been requesting a release more recently im unaware of that.
That's my fear the continual losing having an effect and our younger players wanting out

You're writing Latu off after less than 80 mins playing injured and out of position? Do you remember how awful Tedesco was in 2013 returning from injury and on the wing? There have been countless other superstars who have had middling starts to their career and without the excuse of an injury. Give him time before you judge him.
Latu is a replica of the young dolphins half who is a year or two older. In two years Latu will be a similar player and be ready as a possible 14 while waiting to take over from Luai in 4 years

It is very strange … i agree …

I think logic is going out the window after losing for so long

Im all for keeping him ..but he needs to be contributing more than that if they are paying him $2mil over the next 4 years ..maybe try him at Center next year ..

I wouldn’t even consider it until I’ve seen him get a decent run in the halves. He was the highest rated out of all the young halves coming through, including Galvin. Trading him before he even plays 1 game is ludicrous.

The Dogs get a potential 10 year franchise half and we get a winger closing in on 30.

If anyone goes it’s Sullivan. Albeit he has been better (coming from an extremely low bar) the last couple games.
