To be fare the whole Cup team is playing rubbish, actually almost every single grade is.

So we might as well separate the chaff from the wheat now and see which of the young fellas have it. We've got nothing to lose this season,...apart from losing. But if we blood a few of them, some of them may come good.
That’s a good point.
Besides Casey. Benji has named a team of Top 30 players. Maybe he is using these suspensions as an opportunity to test out the depth of our first squad.
Faatape and Lobb are Dev. Sione on T&T I believe.
So possibly that’s what’s happening.

Worry about Feledy in D against the quality backs they have. Also I would have chosen Si Fainu in front of Matamua from whom I have never seen any aggression either with or without the ball.
Seems obvious that Cows will play an expansive game so lets hope they fail to click. Not sure that they will be allowed to feel over confident- lets hope this isn’t the game they hit their straps !! We could simply crumble and end up looking like a cup team.
Any aggression Matamua had may have evaporated in his NRL debut a couple of seasons ago when he got sent to the bin for a shoulder charge.

We do look like a cup team much of the time and that is when we have our best 17 available.

We can only hope for the best and that something good can come out of this game.

Sione is top 30 this year

Did Naden get 3 weeks for that hit on halftime?

Olam also got 3 weeks for the hip drop.
Both only 1 week. Olams wasn't a hip drop either.

With Olam I don't blame people for thinking it's a hip drop when every time a player gets injured from behind that's what the commentators call it.

Here is a video of a hip drop where they clearly explain the nuances of what a hip drop really is. There was no twist in Olams case and his weight also landed on the legs differently.

Thanks mate

Good to see that explanation. Thanks for that.

Bar about 5 players, you wouldn't be surprised to see a NSW Cup team with this line up.

Going to be very tough with this squad but the average IQ increases without Naden and AJ in the team.

Looking forward to beating the bye next week.

Attended the Magic round last day, great day except for the loss, Observations, whatever Craig Bellamy and his Team do to get players to really good standard, well done, Shaun Blore is a go to player for them, offloads, line running and defense completely different to when he played for us.
Bula - Just cannot get into the game with Suliivan directing the show, tries hard
Alaimalo- Really suprised, first year in league, a genuine first grader, safe, defense was good and lots of room for improvement
Sullivan - Not a game organising half, looks unfit and does not have that zip from a few years back
Fonua Pole - Why he is not starting I cannot work out, was the only forward that has pace and works hard in all areas
Staines - The quickest player in the Team and makes decent ground when returning the ball, had 2 bad mistakes.
Seyfarth - Tries hard but gets dominated, this is where we lack genuine strike forwards
Klemmer - Just telegraphs his run with the mid run skip and not what he use to be\
Samuela - Misses a lot of tackles, arm grabs mainly
Stef - Tries hard but Teams put 3 on him every tackle
Sione - Didnt look out of place
On another note - Parramatta were horrible, that had no direction at all, knew Arthur would be gone after that performance.
Thanks for your summary from someone who was there. Agree with most but surprised with your comments on Samuela. Will have a closer look next week.

Win, lose or draw this weekends team should at least help answer a few questions on who can help us moving forward and who cannot.
No doubt Matamua has something about him, whether or not he has the required toughness, attacking leg speed and ball playing ability to be our long term 13 remains to be seen, a good opportunity for him to showcase his talent on Friday evening.
Feledy and Casey also have their chance to show if they are good enough to push for regular NRL starting positions or at least be adequate depth back ups. I’m not sure, but do believe both of them have a lot more to offer than what any of us have seen.
Will Alaimalo continue to improve enough to be the long term big bodied winger we need, or do we need to look elsewhere ?
Can Staines cut out his missed tackles and become a genuine attacking threat ?
Can Bula be the attacking spark we require from fullback ?
Are our young halves making the required improvements to get our attacking game up to scratch ?
How close is Samuela to becoming the rampaging tackle busting edge forward we require ?
Does Papali’i still have something to offer as an edge forward, or is he now better suited in the middle as a 13 ?

Samuela has just turned 20 and has missed 4 out of 82 in the last 3 weeks. Not sure what the other bloke was talking about
