Is it the right strategy

He also had defensive lines petrified - That left the other fellas plenty of space.....
Especially in that 09-11 period...

IU thought he made the likes of Ayshford and Lawrence look much better
than they actually were in those prime years.
Gee I wish we had Geoff Daniela and Mitch Brown in our current backline ...... there is the problem with the current squad lol

Well said,
I thought the forwards we got last year would make a difference to us, They didn't....
Or maybe they did, (Just not enough?)
And we'd have won no games and got lapped by 6o every week last year without them?
history will never know....

But anyone who was claiming last year they were dominant is kidding themselves
(Seem to be the same folk blaming the halfback)
So I've re-thought it (And I've not said it again)

Was interesting hearing Reynolds talk about the squad when he got to Brisbane,
He said something like - He couldn't believe how much they didn't know about Footy....
(And they're full of rep players when he got there)

I'm also concerned about the Footy IQ of Benji and Farah, If they had enough of it
- It would be engrained in the joint (They spent the best part of 20 years in these walls)
I feel they got through the most of their careers on individual brilliance alone.
I repeat, good players don’t necessarily make good coaches. Benjis “issue” will always be his unpredictable flair, but you can’t coach that. And trying to create a highly disciplined environment requires a totally different skill set.
Farah was a heady player who did some great things in his career but as far as him being able to set up attacking systems, is imo impossible for him.
He is forever on the fringe and should not be involved in the coaching team.
Morris is another issue, he was able to keep the Sharks competitive during his tenure there, but seems to be making little or no difference to us.
The coaching mix is wrong imo, and needs to be really looked at, probably at the end of the season coz I can’t see anything changing right now.

We can all reminis about the past and how good players were etc...our biggest problem beside a mix of old hardheads and young talent is that there is no discipline or structure adhered to ..they very rarely support the ball runner, give stupid penalties away, can't put pressure on the kick chase and can't convert in the red zone...
So is this a coaching issue or no footy smarts from top NRL players with big contracts .
In my opinion we need the coaching staff not only coach but instill discipline.and a winning culture into these blokes..
It's ok to rely on API but these guys need to learn and learn fast...I do give these guys credit for effort and not getting flogged by huge amounts...but they need wins..

This is is a really good point I hadn't considered BB.
What I don't understand is why the hell are we so
structured and limp in attack given they built their
careers on instictive/impulsive play then... Bizarre
Kaito we have changed the halves, we have changed the three quarters, there has been one constant.
The fullback sets the tone of every teams attack, wraps around the halves to make the extra man or at least create a bit of uncertainty in the opposing defence.
The fullback should also be capable of filling in at first receiver and have some sort of kicking game when required.
Our fullback has absolutely no idea how to do any of this. I’m 99.9% certain Benji & Farah are not instructing him to refrain from doing anything I’ve mentioned above.
He seems like a very respectful and dedicated young man, but our teams attack will never be any good while he plays 1, mark my words.

Development path for a development club is the only strategy. They have to stick with it and ignore fans and the media. Hard after 12 years of failure but it’s the only way out.
