STREAMING FINDS and RECOMENDATIONS

I have watched The Bear over the past week.
What an amazing achievement. The storytelling and the characters are excellent. Very intense and chaotic, yet heartfelt.
Some of these episodes are 10/10.
The one at Christmas is up there with the best episodes of any show ever.

Guessing "pluto" and "Monster" Anime on Netflix have been mentioned. Loved Pluto... Also Edgerunners was incredibly good, it was meant to be cyberpunk themed but seemed shadowrun themed IMHO.

Monster is a rather extraordinary Anime, dark very dark. But not in a Deathnote way, very morally ambigious if you like that stuff.

How good was the Xmas episode? It was so manic and felt like running a marathon to get through watching it as crazy as that seems. JLCurtis incredible performance.

I have just finished watching Loudermilk. Wasn't sure about it after the first few episodes but then got really invested in the misfit characters. Hoping they do another season but you never know with these series.

Man, it was full on.
The camera work, the dialogue with shit going on all over the house, the crazy little storylines that intertwined, the directing and acting from everyone there - which was a big chunk of the main cast plus special guests.
The sit down scene at the table was intense and just kept getting wilder.
It was perfect storytelling.

The episode after it where cousin Ritchie spent time at that elite restaurant was just as good.

Not yet.
Waiting for a time no ones around.

Just in case... 😂
Yeah I know what you mean mate. 😎
I read up more about the story and there’s a fair bit that they left out of the film, including the youngest brother Chris and his story which is terribly tragic as well. Another is when Kevin confronts his father who pulls a gun on him and whilst pointing it at him says “you haven’t got the guts to do what your brothers did” Kevin said “dad, it takes guts to keep on living”.
Man…everything about this story just smashes me 🤣

Yeah, I watched a few fan made docos on YouTube.

Full on stuff.

Watched 137 Shots yesterday. Interesting to watch and shocking outcomes. Regardless of which side of the divide you sympathise with, shows how broken and truely divided parts of America are.

was probably my all time favourite show as a kid… they butchered the movie now they’ve butchered the show
There are some very good parts to the show TBH. Costumes and sets look great.

I wasn't expecting a shot for shot recreation or this amount of storyline compression.

I like the added scenes with Sozin etc

I can see how non Hard Core fans like us would really like it.

That was a heavy one. America is a powder keg and it’s going to explode soon. The reaction last time Trump was elected was pathetic - cities torched, people killed in the streets…they have another election coming up and he’s the front runner.

Just in time for it, A24 are releasing a film called Civil War written by Alex Garland.

look forward to watching it. If Trump does get re-elected hold on to your hats cause the left will go into meltdown mode and some on the right will think it’s a green light to further the bigotry and hatred.
