Adam Doueihi #227

Regardless of opinion on Doueihi as a player, I think we can all agree he is enduring significant trauma with his third knee reconstruction. For that reason, can we give this young man some grace and allow him as far as is possible, to concentrate on his rehabilitation. I hope he can get back on the field regardless of whether it is with the WTs, another NRL club or in the UK where grounds are a bit more foregiving. I wish him all the best with his recovery and it was good to see him running in one of the 24 training snaps.

That's a bit of a cheap shot mate. Not sure what his religious beliefs have to do with his footy 🤦‍♂️
It wasnt meant to be a cheap shot, im merely comparing the passions he has for the two scenarios
Some of his attempted defence has been the worst Ive ever seen in 50 years watching, little to no effort at times

I understand the point you're making as to his defence, but it's a lazy analogy. I would expect any religious person to be more passionate about their faith than they are about footy.

Meh.
AD had a cheap shot at the gays in schools, so he can chop on the chin anything that comes his way over his pathetic efforts at being a decent human and even worse effort at being a footballer.

He took no cheap shot, he expressed the opinion that a Catholic school should be able to enforce Catholic teachings. It's pretty simple really. Almost as simple as the person that can't separate sport and religion.

OK fair enough...lets swap the insta religious posts for his comments about wanting to be a leader & (C)....that too is something that requires attitude passion and respect...Good (c)s choose themselves they make it easy for the coach
Anyway unfortunatley it will take a huge effort to get back imo, training pics are positive and I wish him all the best, hes a local jnr too which makes this all a bit sadder

Very good point. I do like AD, but he needs to show what he is capable of rather than telling us about it. Leaders let their actions do the talking.

One thing AD offers is passion for his club. Okay his defensive game is not his strong suit, but he is not doging it, it’s more about technique and the ability to make the correct read.

I think he would probably be best to head over to ESL or even rugby for a year or two before trying his hand again in the NRL

😂😂😂
Reckon I could find at least 3/4 Interviews with him where he openly says he hates defending...
That's not technique at all, That's attitude...

And flys in the face of most of what you've written....
There'd be a fair argument to be made if he hates it enough to openly discuss it with Journos on Video,
He hates it enough to avoid it on the park.

Fixing attitude is a bit different...

The big thing is whether he is happy to stay on what would likely be close to a minimum contract, having been paid circa $600k in the past (I might be off there). I would imagine this would have to at least halve given the risks involved with him.

Think I read the other day we have 27 signed for 25. Idk if Id be willing to roll the dice on giving him one of those last 3 spots.

Yeah, meh.
call me when he can tackle 1800 80085

His passion for the club is often praised on here. I find it hard to believe. I've heard him personally talk about it but I've never seen/heard of his words in action.

Partially because i disagree and feel he does dog it a little in defence. Yes he makes bad reads but he just as often has poor efforts.
He had pretty hefty contract demands and was shopping himself to anyone that would meet them. He ended up extending after discovering no other club valued him as much as the Tigers or he himself value him. If he was passionate about the club he would still no doubt look around but not sell himself as aggressively as Doueihi reportedly did. Can't even blame his manager as he was representing himself.
He 'reportedly' demanded his position. Now this was most likely blown way out of proportion and was just a discussion with the coach rather than a dummy spit about where he is playing. But if there is any truth that it was more than I assume it would have been it doesn't reflect a club first attitude.
His general game play is quite selfish. He has blown many an opportunity by trying to do things himself when the percentage play was to use those around him. There is many reasons why his game play may not reflect his personality but it very well could.
I haven't heard much praise of him from other players. Perhaps this is to do with all his time in the rehab group rather than running drills with the team. But when players speak of those at the club doing extras or even the leaders I never hear Doueihi's name come up.

Agreed with all of this.

Needs to go elsewhere.

Meh. He was talking about gays in Catholic schools. Big difference.
