I really don’t think the issue is coaching or use of the bench. Sure not perfect and room for improvement but we are losing games because the other team have better players. We have by far the worst 1 - 7 in the comp.

Simpkin played well. No nonsense first grader there - would like to see him play some more games off the bench to give Api a rest though understand the logic of having Latu at 14. Tonight showed even with the growth of our young forwards, we really are another starter short (at a minimum)...

Just wish Bateman and Papali'i would switch positions otherwise team picks itself at the moment.

Turuva massive for us but still a winger short for next season IMO. Need another starting forward too (almost any position would help us so would be focusing on quality over any particular position in the forwards).

I think we are a better team with Bateman in it rather than not but I’d prefer him a second row or bench as a utility. He is a tough nut that the other players respond to and our vice captain but just doesn’t have the impact imo for the middle.

I’d look at loaning Sullivan to super league for one season. Gives him the best chance to develop into a NRL half as he is too good for NSW cup at this stage. Whether he’d be interested….

Thought strange as well. Potentially they also view him as the next winger in line so want to give him a go there to see.

Of the backline players that aren’t currently in their teams top 17, personally think Alamoti and Valemei are the best bet. Both I think would improve our team. Would still need to sign a rep quality outside back IMO if we ever want to get back in the 8 though…

Better than what we have but hardly inspiring…proven first grader though at least.

I’d love Seyfarth if he was player 18-20 in the squad and played 10ish games a year from the bench when injury strikes. Local junior, tries hard, brings some aggression from the bench and can play either middle or edge. Not his fault we don’t have depth.

Yep, but Nado, Klemmer, Bateman and S. Fainu all bring some aggression that I thought we were sorely lacking against the Dragons. A bit rocks and diamonds but thats better than just rocks if you catch my drift....
