Moltzen staying at Concord
Written by Daily Telegraph on .
TIM Moltzen will remain at the Wests Tigers after the Dragons said today they would not seek to register the contract they signed with the player.
The saga was the subject of an NRL investigation after Moltzen signed contracts for next season with both clubs.
Wests Tigers said they wouldn't release Moltzen from the final year of his contract despite him signing with the Dragons.
Moltzen had indicated he wanted to stay at the Wests Tigers.

After watching the trial last weekend Moltzen although he played ok still didn't get fully involved.I noticed he didn't take the line on.He seemed more intent on setting other players up rather than create something for himself. His confidence was obvious down last year but if he wants the 7 jersey than he has a lot of work to do , not on his fitness but confidence. He has what it takes but how long we going to wait to we see his best week in week out.
We know he knows how to take on the line at speed but a good 7 needs to be able to take the right option at the right time and feed the machine that is outside him

I think you will find that Sheens will be really wanting Moltzen to work on that part of his game especially seeing he hasn't been consistantly in the 7 jersey for a while

id prefer to see him at half back than fullback as he didnt want to run the ball back when he was the number 1

Both Prince and Lui were at their best when they took the line on, you cant afford to have a catch and pass no7 any more. Although it was only 30 minutes of a trial match so it would be grossly unfair to start having go at Moltzen. Really the only negative thing I see about Moltzen as a no7 is his kicking game but once again, Iam willing to give him a few months before I start to have a go at him.
As for resigning him, well he will command a lot more cash while he has a no7 on his back

Considering he had a hand in a few of the tries , ran down Sandow to save a try and generally tavckled well (unlike our previous no 7 ) he will be a handful when he decides to get more involved

fingers crossed ck
