He is the next Benji Marshall out of Keebra Park High School even down to his initials. The only difference is Ben Murdoch's size. ''He's as explosive as Benji Marshall but he's twice the size,'' says the high school's coach, Greg Lenton.

Murdoch is considered by Lenton the best prospect out of the acclaimed school since Marshall, which means he could be even better than Robert Lui, Greg Eastwood, Ben Te'o and Corey Norman, the latter who starred on debut for the Broncos in round one.

Melbourne 24 Wests Tigers 22

English-born Melbourne young gun Gareth Widdop clinched the Toyota Cup grand final for the Storm with a 74th minute try and pressure conversion, his side downing the Wests Tigers 24-22 today.

Widdop finger-nailed a late grubber - his second try of the match - to draw his side level at 22-22 before calmly potting the conversion and delivering the second version of the national under-20s competition to Melbourne.

The Storm scored four of their five tries in the first half to lead 18-10 at the break before a burst of two four-pointers in three minutes from the Tigers took them to a 22-18 lead after 56 minutes.

The match kicks-off at 2.10pm at ANZ Stadium on Sunday, October 4.

Wests Tigers wish Grant Jones, captain Darren Nicholls and the team the very best of luck.

Exciting young Wests Tigers full-back Jake Mullaney has finished as the Toyota Cup leading pointscorer.

Heading into the final round this weekend, Mullaney was sitting on 256 points, 24 clear of nearest rival Gareth Widdop from the Melbourne Storm.

Widdop had a chance too to overtake Mullaney after the Wests Tigers full-back was sick during the team’s warm-up against the Bulldogs on Friday night, resulting in him being a late withdrawal just prior to kick-off.

However, Widdop only managed an individual haul of 14 points in the Storm’s 46-44 victory over the Warriors to finish on 246 points – 10 behind Mullaney.

Mullaney scored 22 tries and kicked 84 goals for a personal tally of 256 points.

Wests Tigers congratulates Jake Mullaney on his achievements and wish him and his team-mates the very best of luck for the Toyota Cup finals next weekend. Wests Tigers finished the regular season in fourth place.
