As a winger, your main jobs aren’t dictated by what your centre does. You choose to come in and do dirty hit ups, you choose to contest attacking kicks, you choose where you stand on backline shifts. I only saw Naden make him look silly once. He's had 3 different centres in 7 games and I can't think of a game where people came out thinking his centre played well.
I will agree that his redzone metres have lacked, but how about Faatapes, Nadens & Starford? No one has played well from his centre position.
...plus finish well!We still need two hard running wingers. With Tupou going and Staines not cutting it, we need two players who can start our sets off well.
Sorry I was wrong 4 centres not 3. Naden only had 30 minutes and then was swapped to wing for Bateman to be his centre. As a winger, your main jobs aren’t dictated by what your centre does. If that is true then I’ll believe we have turned the corner. It definitely seems different because usually we’re the first team named whereas all the talk has been Newcastle and St George.Which is why some people think the deal is already done. Can't end negotiations if they are already over and he is signed.
Zac Lomax has probably created more tries from contesting kicks this year than our whole backline. It’s clearly an effort area that we need to be better at.Sorry I was wrong 4 centres not 3. Naden only had 30 minutes and then was swapped to wing for Bateman to be his centre.
I don't recall Charlie having a problem contesting attacking kicks this season, in fact he would of scored the other week if he was a bit luckier with Sezers bounce.
His defence against Sivo won us the Eels game too btw.
Thats was my first thought... Not a good sign as he seems like a man of his wordHmm didn’t Richo say if it’s in the papers the deal is off? Interesting week ahead.
The agent can go to the papers in an effort to prompt the Dragons to up their freight. 🤔Thats was my first thought... Not a good sign as he seems like a man of his word
Could be at the point where he has told Penrith and/or Dragons of his intentions not to re-sign/sign with them. Nothing stopping them from blabbing to the media.Thats was my first thought... Not a good sign as he seems like a man of his word
I dont think that says much as Lomax has created more tries from contesting kicks this year than 70% of the other teams invluding penrith, and he scored one last week from centre. You don't need to be the winger to make it a contest, his centres have all been lazy.Zac Lomax has probably created more tries from contesting kicks this year than our whole backline. I agree our centres and wingers all need to be better. I’d like to see one of Olams all guts runs followed up by our other backs. Normally one of our plodders follows him up and all momentum is killed. Watch closely how many high kicks we contest against Brisbane, hopefully the coaches have picked up on it and asked for better effort.I dont think that says much as Lomax has created more tries from contesting kicks this year than 70% of the other teams invluding penrith, and he scored one last week from centre. If true, we can only dream of such a sausage factory.Well when you have the production line of juniors they have, you don’t really need to try and rort it. Just allow who’s expendable to go, and bring new kids in and they are pretty much clones of the guys they replaced.
I don’t think there is any doubt about it. They lose players like Burton, Crichton, Api, Kikau, Leinu and still contend for premierships. If true, we can only dream of such a sausage factory.

Been brewing for a bit for those who remember I posted about it earlier in the year. I’ve heard for a while now that if Turuva isn’t at Penrith he’ll be at the Tigers - seems like it’s all confirmed now, well hopefully.
We can thank Richo and Benji as I’m sure they played a part but ultimately Api played the biggest role in bringing over Sunia as he pushed both parties to engage in one another.
Sunia is a great player I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed a more discipline outside back in the competition….. he never makes mistakes, great under the high ball and can make good yardage he’s also leading the NRL in tries this year as well.
He’s also 21 and seems one of those players people love to play alongside….. this would be a great coup for the club long term.
Meek handover are what we are. Is almost. ike a tactic... Hand the ball over to the opposition as close to their line as possibleI agree our centres and wingers all need to be better.
