How many wins are acceptable for 2010?
I am interested to see what some of you 'real' fans believe is an acceptable amount of winning games for 2010.

I want whatever gets us a top 4 spot, but i'd say enough for a top 6 is acceptable. I actually think 7th or 8th isnt good enough next year because of the way we finished 09 and the improved squad we have for 2010......worse than 6th is an underachievement.

Re: How many wins are acceptable for 2010?
All the players can do is get out there and give it their best. With the likely squad for next year, that will probably equate to 15+ wins for the regular season, but there are too many other factors involved.
Dodgy referee decisions, injuries to key players, players missing due to rep honours, the bounce of the ball...
There is a lot that can go against you and no matter how hard you try, you just can't fight it. Hopefully we won't have to fight it next year, but I won't be calling for people to be sacked if we play with the right attitude but luck isn't on our side!

I went 14, I think anything less than a top 8 spot can be deamed a failure.
So I think we will finish in the bottom half of the 8.

17 I think.
With the squad look as it does and with the pending addition of Lote... We should be looking at more than half our games won.

I like guessing games......
18.....
A KPI shoud be to NOT lose 2 games in a row ALL season.....that should get you a top 8 spot if not top 4....
Another....put together the Clubs longest winning streak..........

Re: How many wins are acceptable for 2010?
I went with 14 (14 wins - 10 losses).
That should get you 4th or 5th which is what I want, Im not expecting them to be minor premiers, but I am expecting them to be strong and finish fairly comfortably in the 8.
To me thats reasonable, its not asking for to much or to little and its gettable.
The guys arent machines so there will be some losses, but im hoping we see many wins.

12, if we get hit by injuries we still have the depth to win some games. 12 is a bare minimum, no excuses at all. If we get a good run with injuries we should be pushing for 15, and a top 4 spot.

16 wins plus 4 points from the byes gives 36 points anything less is unacceptable

Re: How many wins are acceptable for 2010?
I went with 15 wins, plus two byes, that's 34 points and certainly enough to make the finals. As to where that would leave the Tigers on the ladder? Maybe 6th or 5th. Ideally I'd like to see the Tigers make the top 4 and on paper I reckon they're good enough to do so but ime will tell.

Based on past seasons (draws are half a win)
Year
Minor Premiers
4th
8th
2009
17 wins
14.5 wins
12.5 wins
2008
17 wins
15 wins
13 wins
2007
21 wins
13.5 wins
11 wins
2006
20 wins
14 wins
12 wins
Basically, 17 wins will be close to minor premiers. Manly in 2007 had 18, Cronulla and Manly in 2008, as well as Canterbury this year had 17, other than that, every team to rack up 17 wins has won the minor premiership
14 wins should wrap up a top 4 spot, Manly and St George in 06 had 14 and missed out, along with Manly and Brisbane in 09. Brisbane in 08 had 14.5 and missed out (the only side to have 14 and miss out on points not f/a)
13 wins should wrap up a top 8 spot. No side has missed out with 13 wins in the past 4 years, although several have missed out with 12.
With that I will say
Completely injury free, 17 wins
A few injuries to key players, 15 wins
Epic injury toll 13 wins (just get into the 8 and go from there)

Surely if Titans can win 16 matches during a season (which they did last year) then we can..
However we have always proven to be inconsistent.

Re: How many wins are acceptable for 2010?
Its not the amount of wins, its when they occur thats important....you need enough in the first 2/3rds of the year to keep in touch, and then the back 1/3rd you want to start your run, get on that roll to take you and your good form into the fianls
17 wins is great, not if its the first 17 weeks though.

Re: How many wins are acceptable for 2010?
I went 15. This year we had 12 wins and 12 losses with 3 narrow losses in a row. If we're going to be a finals contender we need to win those close ones and be able to put teams away when we have a decent lead (ie Souths game) ... so I'd say we can match 2009, plus win those narrow games.
Going off the 2009 ladder, 3rd had 16 and 4th had 14, so with 15 we'd be somewhere around the top 4 with 15 wins.

Re: How many wins are acceptable for 2010?
I've gone with 12. You have to expect rough trots with injuries and form at some stage so whilst i would be happy with a higher number, realistically 12 wins would put us in with a chance of making the 8. Based on our personnel i would expect us to probably go past 12 wins and perhaps hit 14. Like i said though, we have to expect the odd blow here and there.

17 - about double the amounts of wins than losses
Will be enough for a top 4
